Other People's Vairs

This is my 1964 Monza convertible. It has 50k miles. It had been in storage for about 20 years when I bought it. It is original except for the paint and an alternator replacing the generator. It is only driven in the summer and stored during the winter. I never start it over the winter and have had no trouble getting her going each spring. I always get positive comments about the car from people. Many say they had one when they were young and loved it. Some of the younger drivers marvel at the design. The Corvair looks like nothing they have ever seen and they like it. She still "purrs like a kitten" when I drive down the road. As I drive and whenever I stop, the Corvair always makes me new friends. It just naturally draws a crowd.†
